  2. This is the official seal of the Municipality of MacArthur, Province of Leyte. Each part of the logo has symbolic meaning that reflects the town’s history, heritage, and livelihood:

The Outer Ring (Red & Green Text)

“Municipality of MacArthur” (red) – identifies the town.

“Province of Leyte” (green) – locates the municipality within its province.

    General Douglas MacArthur (Center Figure)

The statue/image of Gen. Douglas MacArthur signifies the town being named after him.

His famous phrase “I Shall Return” recalls his landing at Leyte Gulf during World War II, which marked the beginning of the liberation of the Philippines from Japanese occupation.

The Three Sections Inside the Seal:

Left Section (Blue Sea with Warships and Helicopters) – symbolizes the historic landing of MacArthur and the role of Leyte in the Second World War. It also represents the municipality’s connection to coastal and marine resources.

Right Section (Green Fields with Coconut and Rice) – represents the town’s main sources of livelihood: farming and coconut production.

Middle Section (Orange with MacArthur’s Statue) – highlights the town’s namesake, paying homage to its historical importance and pride.

    Color Symbolism:

Red – bravery and heroism, especially of those who fought during WWII.

Green – agricultural prosperity and natural resources.

Blue – peace, progress, and the municipality’s maritime environment.

Orange/Gold – honor and historical significance.
